The carrier, unless otherwise agreed in writing, (based on the art. 10 D.L. nr. 286 of 21.11.2005 published on the G.U. nr. 6 of 09.01.2006) can be held responsible and therefore liable up to the following value limits, the amount of compensation in respect of any loss or damage to the goods transported shall not exceed  1.00 euro/Kg  (gross weight)

The carrier, unless otherwise agreed in writing, (based on the CMR, Convention relative au contrat de transport international de Merchandises par Route, of 19.05.1956, law 621 of 06.12.1960) can be held responsible and therefore liable up to the following value limits, the amount of compensation in respect of any loss or damage to the goods transported shall not exceed  SDRs (Special Drawing Rights) 8.33/Kg (gross weight). The value of SDR is fixed by the international exchange like any national currency, the current daily exchange rates can be found on “Il Sole 24 ore”.

The carrier can be held responsible for the whole amount of the goods when the loss or damage have been cause by criminal intent or carrier/ his employees gross negligence.

All damages due to defective packaging, robbery or coincidence are not included in the CMR liability.
